Since 2003, HOMEDEC has grown into one of Malaysia's leading home design and renovation exhibitions, connecting more than 20,000 exhibitors with over 4 million homeowners in the pursuit of better living spaces.
At HOMEDEC 2026, Nextrend Systems collaborated with Matthew Lim Associates (MLA) to explore how sound can transform the way we experience interior spaces.
INTERVAL 间 is this year's HOMEDEC Showhome, curated by Matthew Lim Associates. A home is something we see, touch, hear, and feel. It lives in the light that shifts through the day, the textures under our fingertips, the sounds around us, and the feeling each space leaves with us.
Each zone featured an original soundscape composed by Nextrend's sound engineer, creating different atmospheres while allowing the audio technology to blend seamlessly with the surrounding design.
The Light Zone offered a peaceful sound-healing experience, where gentle nature sounds and soothing melodies created a calming atmosphere. Discreetly recessed into the wall, KGEAR GH4W delivered the soundscape across the seating area, while a K-array Rumble-KU26W subwoofer added warmth and depth, blending seamlessly into the interior design.
The Brionvega Radiofonografo RR226 fo-st stood as the artistic centrepiece, pairing iconic Italian design with the same soothing soundscape. More than a statement piece, it brought warmth and familiarity to the space, creating a welcoming atmosphere that felt like home.
Connecting the Light and Dark Zones, the Transition Zone featured five architectural doorway panels, each with a different wallpaper design. As visitors walked through, K-array Lyzard-KZ14 I loudspeakers, discreetly recessed into the wall and positioned alternately on the left and right of each panel, delivered a continuous soundscape that gradually shifted from calming sound healing to a mysterious nighttime ambience. Positioned at the central panel, K-array Rumble-KU44 I added depth to the immersive experience.
Discreetly recessed into the wall, a KGEAR GH8 extended sound coverage along the walkway while blending seamlessly into the architectural design. Together, the integrated audio system transformed the passage into an immersive journey, allowing visitors to experience how sound can shape emotion and atmosphere.
The Dark Zone introduced a mysterious nighttime atmosphere, where deeper tones and layered sounds created an immersive and intriguing experience. Discreetly recessed into the walls, KGEAR GH4 loudspeakers provided sound coverage across the seating areas while blending seamlessly into the dark interior design.
K-array Rumble-KU210 added depth and richness to the soundscape, enhancing the mysterious ambience. Together, the integrated audio system allowed visitors to immerse themselves in the atmosphere, experiencing the sound rather than noticing the speakers.
The display presented a range of loudspeakers arranged from the smallest to the largest designs: K-array KZ1 × 3, KZ14 × 3, KV25, KV52, KK52, KP52 and KT2 in black and white, alongside the KGEAR GH4. Each demonstrated different design possibilities, from discreet audio solutions to more prominent speakers, allowing visitors to explore how sound can complement various interior styles. Alongside the speaker showcase, a cosy living room setting featured two K-array KV52 loudspeakers complemented by a K-array Rumble-KU26 subwoofer, demonstrating how a compact audio system can deliver an engaging home-listening experience while blending naturally into the interior.
At HOMEDEC 2026, Nextrend collaborated with Matthew Lim Associates to demonstrate how sound transforms the way we experience spaces. From the calming Light Zone to the mysterious Dark Zone, original soundscapes and seamlessly integrated audio solutions enhanced each atmosphere while complementing the architectural design.
