A Hospitality Anthology (AHA) at ARCHIDEX 2026
A Hospitality Anthology (AHA) is designed as a journey of discovery, guiding visitors through a curated exploration of the ideas and innovations shaping the future of hospitality across Asia.

Event
Since 2003, HOMEDEC has grown into one of Malaysia's leading home design and renovation exhibitions, connecting more than 20,000 exhibitors with over 4 million homeowners in the pursuit of better living spaces.
For this edition, the showhome curated by Matthew Lim Associates was presented as "Home 家", an experiential space inspired by Layers of Memory. Through soft textures, suspended curtains, and a carefully arranged journey, the showhome invited visitors to slow down, reconnect, and experience the feeling of returning home before entering the main exhibition.
To support the vision of "Home 家", Nextrend was brought in to design the sound experience for the showhome.
The soundtrack, composed in house by Nextrend's sound engineer, was created to follow the emotional flow of the space. From nature inspired ambience at the entrance to nostalgic music and soft piano notes within the memory corner, sound became part of how visitors moved, paused, and connected with the showhome.

The sound journey began at the entrance, where visitors were welcomed by natural soundscapes of morning forest, bamboo, rain, and distant thunder. Delivered through the K-array Anakonda KAN200+8 system, the entrance soundscape created a calm transition from the busy exhibition floor into the feeling of home.

Next to the entrance, the experience shifted into a vinyl listening moment with the Brionvega Radiofonografo RR226, presented within a warm furniture setting. As the record played, music filled the space, recalling the familiar feeling of songs playing in an older home and bringing a sense of nostalgia and comfort into the showhome.

Further inside, the memory corner featured suspended childhood photographs and soft piano notes, creating a quiet pause within the showhome. Delivered through the compact K-array Lyzard KZ14 mounted on the curtain, the sound remained visually discreet while adding depth and emotion to the space.

Before the exit, the K-array Dolomite system supported the remaining area of the showhome with clear and consistent sound. On the first day, this area was used for a conference session, and later during the cocktail session, the same system supported DJ playback, showing its flexibility across different event applications.

The appreciation certificate reflected the collaboration behind "Home 家", recognising the partners who contributed to the showhome experience across interior design, curtain, furniture, lighting, landscape, and sound.

Another highlight of the showcase was the BE@RBRICK AUDIO AI gesture control experience by Nextrend, which invited visitors to interact with sound in a more playful and intuitive way through simple hand gestures.

At the Nextrend booth, visitors were introduced to a broader view of our architectural sound solutions through a projection wall featuring selected project showcases. Alongside the presentation, a demo sound system featuring the K-array KV25 and KU26 allowed visitors to experience the compact scale and sound quality of the system in person.
For HOMEDEC 2026, Nextrend turned sound into part of the spatial narrative, using discreet architectural audio, nostalgic playback, flexible event reinforcement, and interactive activation to support the emotional journey of "Home 家" from entrance to exit.
